In his first NBA game, Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg got into it with Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić.
The two exchanged trash talk throughout the game, and Lendeborg never backed down despite Dončić's status as a veteran. The Warriors and Lakers will face each other again on Friday, and Lendeborg can't wait.
"Absolutely. Absolutely. Yes, I am," he told reporters. "I'll talk about that on Friday."
Insider Explains Yaxel vs. Kuminga Opportunity
Despite it being his NBA debut, Lendeborg was quick to talk trash to Dončić and even earned a technical foul.
The former Michigan star then called out Dončić after the game, saying that he "lost all respect" for him because he was "complaining the entire game." Lendeborg also said that he told Dončić that "he sucks."
Dončić obviously has a much more impressive resume than Lendeborg, but clearly isn't going to stop the rookie from going after him.
Lendeborg, the No. 11 overall pick, has looked like an early candidate for Rookie of the Year so far. He's averaging 21.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, having dropped 31 points on Monday before posting 26 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
He'll look to have the best game of his young career against Dončić and the Lakers on Friday.
