Jaylen Brown is setting the record straight.

The Philadelphia 76ers star was asked about a report from Boston Celtics color commentator and former player Brian Scalabrine suggesting he requested a trade away from the Celtics.

"I love Scal, but I guess he's doing what he has to do. I can understand why he feels the need to do that," Brown told reporters Wednesday. "But I have no interest in letting any false allegations follow me to my next chapter here in Philadelphia. I never demanded a trade, never made a list of ultimatums. Nothing of the sort."

USA Today's Celtics Wire noted Scalabrine walked back some of his initial reporting when he addressed the situation on NBC Sports Boston on Monday, adding "he technically didn't demand any trade."

Brown was definitive in his comments Wednesday and made it seem like he is ready to move on from any speculation and embrace his opportunity to chase a championship with the 76ers.

Boston ended up trading him to Philadelphia in a move that brought Paul George back to the Celtics, and the early returns have worked out well for the 76ers. They improved to 4-1 with Wednesday's 114-109 comeback win over the Indiana Pacers.

Brown posted a double-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block behind 7-of-13 shooting from the field.

If he can find a way to impact the game in a number of ways like that while playing alongside plenty of star power in Tyrese Maxey, LeBron James and Joel Embiid, the 76ers will be a daunting opponent for the entire Eastern Conference.

Brown won a championship with the Celtics and is looking to add another one in Philadelphia after shutting down some of what he called "false allegations" that have generated attention in the early going this season.
