While the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream are still battling for the championship, the rest of the WNBA has turned its attention to the future.
And the future for whichever team wins the 2027 WNBA draft lottery will look much brighter with the opportunity to select USC star JuJu Watkins. Teams now know when that lottery will be, as the WNBA announced Wednesday the 2027 draft lottery will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 7:30-8 p.m. ET.
ESPN will broadcast the event following the conclusion of the women's college basketball game between UConn and Louisville.
The WNBA's announcement also provided the chances for each team to win the lottery and the expected Watkins pick:
The lottery odds were determined based on two-year cumulative records from 2025 and 2026 for those teams that did not make the playoffs. What's more, Phoenix traded Los Angeles its first-round pick, while Chicago traded Washington its first-rounder.
Portland and Toronto's odds were determined just using their record from the 2026 campaign since they were expansion teams.
While the 2026-27 college basketball season is yet to start, Watkins is widely projected to be the No. 1 overall pick.
The star guard can do a little bit of everything on the court with the ability to drive through the lane, get out in transition, finish through contact, hit from the outside, create turnovers with her perimeter defense and facilitate when defenders collapse on her.
She will immediately raise the ceiling for whichever team ends up with the top pick, which only elevates the stakes for the lottery.
The 2027 WNBA draft itself will take place on April 12.
