AUBURN — Mantas Rubstavicius , the Auburn basketball signee who sued the NCAA earlier this month in pursuit of eligibility for the upcoming season, dismissed his lawsuit Monday, Oct. 26, according to court documents obtained by the Montgomery Advertiser.

At 3:22 p.m. CT Monday, attorneys representing Rubstavicius and the NCAA filed a "Joint Stipulation of Dismissal with Prejudice," with presiding Judge Jeffrey Tickal granting the dismissal two minutes later.

Auburn told the Montgomery Advertiser it had been informed Rubstavicius voluntarily dismissed, providing the following statement from head coach Steven Pearl: "Mantas is an exceptional young man with a bright future ahead of him. We appreciate the time he spent as part of our Auburn basketball family and wish him nothing but success as he takes this next step in his career. We look forward to following his success both on and off the court."

Rubstavicius' legal action sought "judgement, declaratory relief and an order enjoining the NCAA from denying him the opportunity" to participate in the upcoming, as Auburn had two requests and a final appeal for Rubstavicius' eligibility denied last month. He signed "binding" revenue-sharing and financial aid agreements with Auburn weeks before the NCAA unveiled new eligibility requirements to member schools on May 8, with court documents listing those respective agreements as signed April 25 and May 3.

The 24-year-old Lithuanian had a lengthy professional career overseas, playing in two leagues for four different squads since 2018. He also went through the 2024 NBA draft process but wasn't selected, though he played for the Golden State Warriors summer league team.
