Kevin Durant Hypes 'Juggernaut' 76ers After LeBron James, Jaylen Brown Join Loaded Roster

Add Kevin Durant to the list of people eager to see what the new-look Philadelphia 76ers can do this season.

Appearing on the Boardroom Talks show with Speedy Morman (starts at 12:15 mark), Durant said the Sixers are going to be a "juggernaut" with LeBron James and Jaylen Brown joining a roster that already has Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe.

The 76ers were undeniably among the biggest winners of the NBA offseason. They entered the summer seemingly bogged down in part by Paul George's contract, which has $110.7 million remaining over two years if he exercises his player option for 2027-28.

George's deal had been regarded as one of the worst in the NBA during the 2025-26 season, yet the Sixers were able to offload it in a trade that brought back Brown after he finished sixth in MVP voting.

The Brown trade was followed up with James signing a two-year, $8 million contract to join him in Philadelphia.

There are still a lot of questions about how the Sixers' on-court operation is going to look with Brown, James, Maxey and Embiid all needing to have the ball to maximize their abilities.

Head coach Nick Nurse will be tasked with figuring all of that out. It also remains to be seen if Embiid can remain healthy to make it through a full season and playoffs.

Even with all of those potential concerns, the upside for this group is as high as it has been for any 76ers team in recent memory.

Durant will get to see what this group looks like in person on Nov. 28 when the Houston Rockets host the Sixers at the Toyota Center. They will meet again in Philadelphia on Dec. 23.
