A representative for Philadelphia 76ers wing Jaylen Brown denied recent claims that Brown demanded to be traded by the Boston Celtics during the offseason.

According to ESPN's Kris Rhim , Brown's rep called the narrative "10000% a lie."

The declaration was made in response to comments by NBC Sports Boston analyst Brian Scalabrine on Monday's episode of SiriusXM Radio 's The Starting Lineup (h/t NESN's Jordan Greer ).

Scalabrine claimed he had heard that Brown demanded a trade out of Boston with the Milwaukee Bucks as his preferred destination, saying, "My understanding is Jaylen Brown went to the organization and had a list of demands. And it was like, 'You either do this, or you trade me.' And he was rooting to get traded to Milwaukee, including calling some other teammates about, 'Hey, man, what do you think of Milwaukee? We should go there.'"

Brown was heavily linked to the Bucks during the offseason as part of a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Instead, Antetokounmpo was traded to the Miami Heat, and Brown was dealt to the Sixers in exchange for Paul George and draft picks.

Prior to Monday night's game between the Celtics and Chicago Bulls, Scalabrine reworded his breakdown of what happened with Brown in Boston, per Rhim .

"I don't know what the ultimatum was or the demands or whatever it was," Scalabrine said. "So technically, he did not demand to be traded. It was, 'Do these things right here or else.' And one of them might have been, 'Give me the $140 million extension.'

"I haven't gotten to the bottom of all that. I didn't even know this was going to be a thing. It's one of those things that lived in my mind for months. I finally used it because we were talking about the weirdest stuff, and now it's out there."

Brown got people talking last week when he commented with a "cap" emoji in response to a video on Instagram in which former Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum said he was "just as much caught off guard as the rest of the world" when Brown got traded.

When later asked by reporters about his relationship with Tatum, Brown said , "We both got so much stuff in front of us. So at the end of the day ... he got to do what he's got to do for his team. I got to do what I do for my team. Jayson's a great guy. Like I said, great family, hell of a basketball player, hell of a PR team. There's no beef, but it'll be a little lamb chop."

Both the 76ers and Celtics have gotten off to solid starts this season, as Philly is second in the Eastern Conference at 3-1, while Boston sits at 2-1.

Given the apparent tension between Brown and Tatum, all eyes are on the first meeting this season between the 76ers and Celtics, which is set for Nov. 10 in Philadelphia.

Then, on Jan. 21, Brown will make his first trip back to Boston since the trade when the Celtics host the Sixers.
