Longhorns Daily News: Texas WBB’s Bryanna Preston lands on Lieberman Award watch list

Texas women's basketball junior Bryanna Preston earned a spot on the 2027 Nancy Lieberman Award watch list, according to an announcement on Monday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, which present the Lieberman Award each season.

Preston is one of 20 players nationally nominated for the award this season. The honor recognizes the top point guard in women's basketball's most elite college division.

Preston enters her junior season likely to take on expanded roles in leadership from in the Longhorns' backcourt. The presumptive promotion comes after she's spent two seasons in Austin.

Preston scored 20 points in Texas' 81-64 exhibition victory over defending national champion UCLA this past weekend.

And she has serious touch when it comes to sinking shots from the three-point line.
