Michael Jordan's Iconic Custom Ferrari 550 Maranello to Be Sold at Auction, Could Fetch $1M+

A Ferrari once owned by the legendary Michael Jordan is set to hit the auction block next month, and it could sell for an eye-popping price.

Per The Athletic's Benjamin Burrows , Jordan's 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello disappeared from public view after he sold it in December 2002. The vehicle was rediscovered by the supercar dealership Curated, which is bringing it to auction in partnership with the marketplace Joopiter. It reportedly carries a pre-sale estimate of $700,000-$1.3 million, and bidding runs from Sept. 15 to Sept. 30.

Jordan was famously seen driving his Ferrari after Game 6 of the 1997 NBA Finals, when he won his fifth NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls.

The Ferrari was modified with custom seat tracks and padding density to fit the 6'6" Jordan. Nike designer Tinker Hatfield later used the vehicle as the inspiration for the Air Jordan 14.

In addition to Jordan's Ferrari, Joopiter is also selling the jersey he wore during Game 3 of the 1998 NBA Finals. Burrows noted the item has a pre-sale estimate of $10-$15 million.
