Kyle Lowry's No. 7 Jersey to Be Retired by Raptors During Game vs. LeBron James, 76ers

After officially retiring as a member of the Toronto Raptors earlier this summer, the franchise will honor Kyle Lowry by retiring his jersey number during the 2026-27 NBA season.

The Raptors announced on Thursday they will hang Lowry's No. 7 jersey from the rafters at Scotiabank Arena during a ceremony after their Jan. 10 game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Lowry ended his storied 20-year NBA career on July 7 by signing a one-day contract with the Raptors to formally retire with the club he played for from 2012 to '21.

The Raptors choosing their game against the Sixers to retire Lowry's jersey is fitting since Philadelphia was the team he spent the final two years of his career with. He is also from Philadelphia and played college basketball at Villanova.

Lowry made one of his final appearances for the 76ers against the Raptors in Toronto. He played the final two minutes of Philadelphia's 115-102 win on Jan. 12 after Raptors fans chanted for him to get in the game.

The Raptors originally acquired Lowry in a trade with the Houston Rockets in July 2012. He was instrumental in turning the franchise into a perennial playoff contender and eventually winning an NBA title during the 2018-19 season.

Lowry made six All-Star appearances in nine seasons with Toronto. He ranks top two in franchise history in games played (601), minutes played (20,813) and total points scored (10,540), steals (873) and triple-doubles (16).

Vince Carter's No. 15 is the only other jersey the Raptors have retired among players who appeared in a game for the franchise. Bill Russell's No. 6 was retired league-wide in 2022.
