Brewers vs. Rays MLB World Series Game 5 Live Updates, Results, Highlights and Reaction

After thrillers in Games 1, 2 and 4 of the 2026 World Series, the Milwaukee Brewers completely shut down the Tampa Bay Rays to polish off a 4-1 victory, both in the game and in the series.

In the process of going 11-2 in the postseason, the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen logged a combined total of 65.0 innings pitched.

They allowed just 10 earned runs, one of which came against Brandon Woodruff, who fought like hell to make it back from his shoulder injury just to pitch one inning in a blowout victory.

Aaron Ashby was the superstar, going 18.0 scoreless innings with 20 strikeouts, pitching multiple innings in most of his appearances. But take Woodruff, Dustin May and Shane Drohan out of the mix as guys who mostly started during the regular season and the collective force of the Brewers' regular relievers was basically untouchable for the entirety of October.

Must be nice to temporarily have the equivalent of six Mariano Riveras to call upon, as needed.

One of the ridiculous things we always do after a team wins a World Series is question whether it might be the beginning of a dynasty.

But, honestly, are the Brewers just getting started?

They've already been almost the winningest team in baseball since the beginning of 2023.

They have one of the most loaded farm systems in the business, including MLB's No. 1 overall prospect Jesús Made.

And as you may have heard a few dozen times in the past week, Jackson Chourio and Cooper Pratt are just getting started in their baseball careers and have already been signed for beyond 2030. (Luis Lara, too, who barely even saw the field in this postseason, but is already one of the brightest stars in the organization.)

Jacob Misiorowski certainly isn't going anywhere any time soon, either.

We could be headed for a foreseeable future in which you just pencil the Brewers and Dodgers into the NLCS on an annual basis.
