Major League Baseball will soon crown a new World Series champion.
The Milwaukee Brewers, fresh off their NLCS sweep of the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers, have booked their second ever World Series trip and are four wins away from capturing the franchise's first title. The ALCS, meanwhile, features a Tampa Bay Rays team similarly pursuing its first championship, and a Cleveland Guardians club aiming to end a 78-year championship drought.
Regardless how things play out from here, one fan base will soon be rewarded with a memory of a lifetime. Of course, two other fan bases will be crushed with colossal disappointment, but hey, that's baseball.

With only half of the World Series bracket set, a projected ALCS winner must be crowned before advancing to the championship round. And despite Cleveland's 3-2 triumph in Thursday's Game 3, our crystal ball still sees Tampa prevailing (though a Guardians' win in Game 4 would flip that).
Seeing Tampa and Milwaukee in the final round should be a dream outcome for any baseball fans. Broadcasters might covet bigger markets and more established stars, but this would pit the top seeds in each league going head-to-head for the throne.
It would also pit two near mirror-image teams against one another. Both the Brewers and Rays are masterful payroll-maximizers, squeezing everything they can from their rosters with a blend of contact hitting, baserunning, timely power, elite defense and lockdown bullpens.
Oddsmakers might call a Brewers-Rays championship clash a coin flip, and honestly, that's close to how we'd view it, too. But Milwaukee has some notable edges, like homefield advantage, additional rest (Tampa is, at minimum, three games away from the final round) and the league's most dynamic starter in Jacob Misiorowski, who's up to 263 strikeouts in 182 innings (playoffs included).
