Out on bail in attempt to murder case, UP man rapes dalit minor

AGRA: A 25-year-old man, who walked out of jail on bail about a year ago in an “attempt to murder” case, has been re-arrested for raping a 16-year-old Dalit girl at a farm on Sept 3.Police said on Sunday that the man allegedly took her to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her. Based on a complaint, an FIR was registered at the local thana under BNS sections 65 (1) (rape) and 351 (criminal intimidation) along with the SC/ST Act and Pocso Act.SP (Mathura-rural), Suresh Chandra Rawat, said the accused had a dispute with a youth from his village in 2022. “During that incident, he gouged out both his eyes with his fingers.
