India News: NEW DELHI: BJP chief Nitin Nabin Friday donated three months of his salary as Rajya Sabha MP to help efforts to aid flood victims in his home state Bi.
NEW DELHI: BJP chief Nitin Nabin Friday donated three months of his salary as Rajya Sabha MP to help efforts to aid flood victims in his home state Bihar, and asserted central and state govts are making every effort to deal with the crisis.Expressing concern over the flood situation, he said Bihar govt is taking swift action and making adequate arrangements for relief camps, community kitchens, medical facilities and fodder for livestock in the affected areas.Nabin said Centre and state stand fully committed to supporting the flood-affected families. Every possible assistance, including financial aid, relief camps, and crop damage assessment, is being extended to them, he said. "Fulfilling his responsibility during this time of crisis, he donated Rs 6.35 lakh, three months of his salary as an RS MP, to CM's Relief Fund," a BJP statement said.Nabin also mentioned that Bihar govt has so far provided financial assistance totalling over Rs 550 crore to flood-affected families, at a rate of Rs 7,000 per family.Get the latest India News and Live updates.
