Early detection key to fighting cancer: Health minister

Patna: Health minister Nishant Kumar, on the occasion of National Cancer Awareness Day, stressed the importance of public awareness, early detection and timely treatment in the fight against cancer, saying that identifying the disease at an early stage and seeking medical intervention without delay could improve treatment outcomes.In his message issued on Saturday, the minister said spreading awareness, dispelling misconceptions about the disease and encouraging people to undergo timely screening were collective responsibilities.He said awareness about cancer needed to reach every section of society so that people could recognise the importance of preventive healthcare and seek medical advice at the right time.Urging people to prioritise their health, Nishant appealed to people to undergo necessary medical examinations and spread awareness about cancer among their families and communities.He said timely decisions regarding health could play a crucial role in saving lives. Calling for greater public participation in the campaign against cancer, the minister urged people to become aware themselves and motivate others to do the same.
