BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh high court has ordered a fresh investigation into the sensational Bageshwar Dham rape case after a DNA test on the 16-year-old girl's aborted two-month-old foetus failed to identify the accused as the biological father, and the survivor retracted her previous statement made before a magistrate.Stressing that the survivor, during her cross-examination, didn't support the prosecution case against the accused, Justice Ajay Kumar Nirankar ordered the Chhatarpur SP to constitute an SIT to find out within two months who had raped the victim and who is the biological father of the foetus. As per the prosecution, the survivor left her home on March 15 after a dispute with her mother and arrived at Bageshwar Dham. Two days later, she met the accused, Raju Jatav, who allegedly raped her that same night at a farm near the ashram. The accused allegedly held her with him for 15 days before taking her to Pachor by train. Raju's wife took her to police, where the girl recorded her statement before a magistrate in the presence of her sister and the Child Welfare Committee, as per the prosecution. On Sept 25, the HC rejected Jatav's second bail application. The order was uploaded on the court's website on Oct 4.You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Bhopal | Silver Rate in Bhopal | Bank Holidays in Bhopal | Public Holidays in Bhopal | Petrol Price in Bhopal | Diesel Price in Bhopal | CNG Price in Bhopal | LPG Price in BhopalStay updated with the latest Bhopal news.
