Delhi SIR: Colleges, universities to host special voter enrolment camps for young voters on Sep 29-30

NEW DELHI: The Office of the chief electoral officer (CEO), Delhi, has directed all district election officers to organise special camps at colleges, universities and other educational institutions across the national capital on September 29 and 30 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.The camps will be held from 9am to 3pm on both days and will focus on maximising enrolment of young voters aged 18 to 25, news agency ANI reported.Eligible students will be encouraged to fill Form-6 for inclusion in the electoral rolls.In a letter dated September 25, deputy chief electoral officer (ER) Prashant Kumar Prasad directed all DEOs to make necessary arrangements for the camps and ensure adequate electoral rolls, Form-6 applications and other required materials are available.The CEO office also directed officials to deploy non-teaching BLOs at the camps and asked principals and heads of educational institutions to disseminate information about the camps in advance and motivate eligible students to enrol.Applications received from students seeking enrolment in another district or Assembly Constituency will be forwarded to the concerned EROs/AEROs, according to the directions, ANI reported.Officials have also been asked to maintain proper records of all forms received at colleges and institutions, publicise the camps through social media and ensure regular monitoring at the district and Assembly Constituency levels.The camps are being organised during the claims and objections period of the SIR 2026.The CEO Delhi website says eligible electors whose names are not included in the draft electoral roll can apply for inclusion through Form-6 during the claims and objections period, which runs until September 30.(With agency inputs)You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Delhi | Silver Rate in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi | Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Petrol Price in Delhi | Diesel Price in Delhi | CNG Price in Delhi | LPG Price in DelhiStay updated with the latest Delhi news.
