Patna High Court orders original Buddha Colony land acquisition records produced by Oct 30 amid petition alleging unauthorised construction and encroachment.
Patna: Patna High Court directed production of original records relating to the acquisition of land for residential purposes in the Buddha Colony area of the state capital, while hearing a petition alleging unauthorised constructions on 30 acres of the acquired land.A single bench of Justice Purnendu Singh passed the order on Friday while hearing a writ petition filed by Buddha Colony Grih Nirman Samiti.The petitioner’s counsel, Vikas Kumar, submitted that 60 acres of land had been acquired, of which 30 acres was given to Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC). He alleged that unauthorised constructions had come up on the land, adding that a large stretch of land near Buddha Colony police station, earmarked for a public park, had been encroached upon.The court directed the additional chief secretary of the state urban development department to ensure that the original acquisition records were produced by Oct 30.
