NEW DELHI: A routine security check at Delhi’s Jama Masjid Metro station turned into a dramatic chase when a passenger, allegedly trying to evade security, suddenly darted through the metal detector frame and rushed towards the escalator. But an alert CISF jawan sensed something was amiss and sprang into action, chasing the man down the staircase before catching hold of him near the platform. The dramatic sequence was captured in a video shared by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on X.A subsequent search of the passenger’s belongings led to the discovery of an unidentified semi-solid substance concealed in a stitched portion of his undergarment, raising questions about what he was carrying and why he allegedly tried to flee. The suspicious object had first appeared on the screen during baggage screening through an X-ray baggage inspection system (XBIS), prompting CISF personnel to give chase, the force said in its post. The passenger, who claimed to be a non-resident Indian (NRI) residing in Kuala Lumpur, was handed over to the police along with his belongings for further investigation. The nature of the substance and the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear. You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Delhi | Silver Rate in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi | Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Petrol Price in Delhi | Diesel Price in Delhi | CNG Price in Delhi | LPG Price in DelhiStay updated with the latest Delhi news.
