Lichfield man who created indecent AI images of girls jailed

A man used artificial intelligence (AI) platforms to create indecent images of women and girls, Staffordshire Police said.

Lewis Davison, 26, from Litchfield posted a series of AI-generated pornographic images on closed Telegram groups.

In some captions on the social media messaging app, he called for the women depicted in the images to be raped and assaulted, investigators found.

He was jailed for two years and two months after pleading guilty at Stafford Crown Court on 27 August.

Davison's devices were seized and he was arrested after the images were reported to Staffordshire Police.

He was charged with eight counts of publishing an obscene article and one count of permitting the taking of a pseudo-photograph of a child. He admitted all of the charges.

PC Matthew Asbury, who dealt with the investigation, said : "I'm pleased we've been able to apprehend Davison and stop him from causing further harm to women and girls online."

He added: "This type of crime can have a profound impact on victims and I can assure the local community that we will take every possible step to make sure those responsible are brought before the courts as quickly as possible."

Davison has also been placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
