A 14-year-old boy has been stabbed in a car park at Manchester's Arndale Centre shopping mall.

Greater Manchester Police said the boy was injured on the 9th floor of Manchester's Arndale Centre just after 15:00 BST on Saturday.

The force said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening or life changing. The Arndale was closed for several hours after the stabbing.

Det Insp Sam Jones said: "This is believed to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public."

The BBC understands a row with other males had taken place beforehand.

No arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing so far and inquiries were continuing.
