Heavy rain lashed as deep depression crosses coast, lay over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, more rains on cards

VISAKHAPATNAM: Heavy to very heavy rain lashed at parts of the north coastal Andhra Pradesh between Wednesday night and Thursday morning as deep depression over north Andhra Pradesh coast, moved slowly west-northwestwards and crossed the coast closed to southwest of Kalingapatnam on Wednesday night as a deep depression with speed of 55 kmph to 75 kmph.The system moved west-northwestwards and it was laying over north coastal Andhra Pradesh about 50 km West of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 80 km north-northeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and 170 km southwest of Gopalpur (Odisha). The systemis very likely to move northwestwards initially maintaining intensity of deep depression for some hours and thereafter it is very likely to move north-northwestwards and weaken gradually by Friday.Parts of the Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari and West Godavari districts received heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
