NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Sunday alleged that Delhi Police refused to register an FIR against ACP Vivek Bhagat over a molestation complaint, claiming officers cited an ongoing Crime Branch investigation.In a post on X, CJP said, “Our team went inside the police station with the victim and asked them to register an FIR against ACP Vivek Bhagat for molestation, but Delhi Police refused, citing the ongoing Crime Branch investigation.”“The law is clear, an FIR must be registered without any inquiry. Yet, Delhi Police is doing everything it can to protect its ACP,” CJP said in the post.The CJP is protesting outside the Parliament Street police station after three women who identified themselves as journalists alleged that they were manhandled by Delhi Police personnel during their detention while covering a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in New Delhi.Earlier, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das, speaking to news agency ANI, said the complainant was at the police station along with her lawyers and other CJP members.“The complainant—the victim—is here, along with her lawyers and the rest of us. Why won't they speak to us?” Das said.He added that the group had given police a few minutes to speak to them, warning that they would otherwise enter the police station.In another post on X, CJP said, “We are outside the Parliament Street Police Station. The Police is unwilling to meet the victim who has been molested by ACP Vivek Bhagat. This is unacceptable!
