Trichy airport pillars get numbers

Trichy: Passengers arriving at Trichy international airport will now find it easier to share their location with cab drivers or people coming to pick them as Airports Authority of India (AAI) has numbered the pillars at the arrival terminal of the new integrated terminal building. All pillars from 1 to 9 on both sides facing the terminal and the cityside have got numbers now.So far, passengers coming out of the terminal have been having a tough time sharing their exact location near the carriageway with those coming to pick them. Peak-hour crowds and high movement of cars, often chaotic, make it difficult for passengers as well as drivers to locate each other. The airport management said passengers can now have hassle-free coordination with their drivers by referring the numbered pillars.
