College campus rocked by two alleged attacks in just weeks as second student arrested at dorm

A student at Wichita State University was arrested on Saturday on a charge of rape, marking the second alleged sexual attack on campus in one month. A spokesman for the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital that James Vandenberg was arrested Saturday on campus at a Wichita State University dorm hall by university police. Vandenberg was released from jail on Sunday after securing a $100,000 surety bond, the spokesman said. More details about what led to the charges weren't available. SEND US A TIP On Oct. 12, 18-year-old Aaron Christian was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and rape. He was released the next day after securing a $100,000 surety bond. The Wichita State University Police Department is handling that investigation. A sexual battery allegation was also made on Feb. 18 at Shocker Studios on campus, which is where the school of digital arts is housed. A 20-year-old man was arrested in that incident, according to campus police records. Fox News Digital reached out to Wichita State University, Vandenberg and Christian for comment.
