Barwani: A special court in Barwani on Thursday sentenced a contractual sub-engineer to four years’ imprisonment in a bribery case.First Additional Sessions Court judge Chandan Singh Chauhan in Barwani convicted Bhupendra Patidar, a Sanawad resident and sub-engineer in Block Resource Coordinator’s office in Sendhwa, under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.Deputy director of prosecution Mahesh Patel said Patidar was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment and fined Rs 20,000 on each charge.Special Police Establishment, lokayukta, registered the case on Aug 19, 2020. Mukesh Nihale, a primary teacher at Govt Primary School, Sondul Ghati, in Sendhwa block, submitted a complaint to the superintendent of police at the lokayukta office in Indore.According to the complaint, Madhya Pradesh State Education Centre, Bhopal, had released funds to build separate toilets for boys and girls at the school. The money was transferred to the School Management Committee, on which Nihale served as secretary.
