An investigation by Sussex Police into the deaths off the coast of Brighton has concluded.
A police investigation into the deaths of three sisters in the sea off the coast of Brighton has concluded, with no evidence found of criminality or third-party involvement.
A post-mortem examination found that all three women died by drowning, Sussex Police said.
An inquest will aim to establish the facts of where, when and how the sisters died, the force added.
The police investigation found that the sisters were dropped off by a taxi in Madeira Drive at about 22:20 BST on 12 May.
No evidence was found to suggest that they visited any nightclubs or local businesses in the area at the time, police said.
Up to the point of discovery of their bodies, there was "no evidence the women came to harm by any individuals", the force added.
Ch Supt Adam Hays said: "From the outset of this complex and challenging investigation, we have been acutely aware of the speculation surrounding this incident, the public's unanswered questions and their desire for answers.
"Our priority throughout has been uncovering the truth for the loved ones of Jane, Rebecca and Christina, because at this incident's core there has always been a grieving family coming to terms with an unthinkable tragedy and loss.
"However, our inquiries have now concluded, pending any new information coming to light."
An inquest opened into the deaths in May at Brighton & Hove Coroner's Court and is set to continue early October.
The father of the sisters, who were all living together in Greenford, London, formally identified their bodies.
In a moving tribute, their father previously said that "no words can truly describe the pain of losing three daughters in the prime of their lives".
He described the three as "my joy, my strength, and the beautiful light that filled our family with happiness and love".
