US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the slogan “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) is becoming obsolete, saying the country has already regained its position as a global power.“Our country is the greatest country anywhere in the world,” Trump said during an appearance on Fox News' Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning. He said the US was now a “beacon” for the world and argued that other countries had begun treating it with greater respect under his leadership.Trump also predicted that Republicans would retain control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterm elections. He pointed to a 30-day campaign blitz across key battleground states in the run-up to Election Day, saying, “I think it's had an impact.”During the interview, Trump also highlighted what he described as US military victories over Iran and said his administration had cut $4 billion in spending towards Israel. In his closing message to voters, Trump said the US had gone from being a “laughing stock” to a country that other world leaders now respected.“Well, we have to keep America great. We’re great now,” he told Fox & Friends.“We were terrible two years ago. We were laughing stock all over the world. The leaders of other countries didn’t even take us seriously. They they thought we were fools. And we’re hot now,” he added.Trump also cited falling oil prices and the US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz as signs of his administration's progress.“You saw oil came down $10, a record yesterday. Dropped $10, and the Hormuz Strait, we have total control of it with the Navy blockade. I mean, everything’s going good. Everybody respects us again,” he said.He also claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping had praised his leadership during a visit in September, telling him, “What you’ve done is amazing.”However, according to CNN's Poll of Polls, his average approval rating stood at 34%. An October CNN poll put his approval rating at 32%, while 73% of respondents disapproved of his handling of the economy. You use AI every day. Now get your AI Quotient. Take the AIQ test.
