Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday said that President Trump’s recent announcement about cutting aid to Israel shows “how bad the polling is” when it comes to the issue.

“Trump getting permission from Netanyahu to end annual aid to Israel isn’t going to change today’s election results,” Greene said in a Tuesday morning post on the social platform X.

“Nor is it going to end the war with Iran or stop Israel from murdering innocent Palestinians. But it does show you how bad the polling is on that issue,” the former Georgia lawmaker added.

On Tuesday, Trump said that he had come to a deal with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that will stop U.S. aid to Israel this year.

In an interview on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends,” Trump said that he and the Israeli leader made a deal “months ago” for the U.S. to cut off its aid to Israel.

“They’re fine with it,” the president said. “They’ve become a very successful country. They don’t need it, and we won’t be paying anymore.”

The issue of American aid to Israel has become more prominent in the last few years, especially in the wake of Israel’s war in Gaza. Many have accused Israel of “genocide” with its actions in Gaza, with tens of thousands of Palestinians dead in the territory due to the conflict.

“Last year when my amendment to strip funding to Israel failed in the House bc only 6 members of congress including myself voted for it, I was labeled an antisemite,” Greene said in her Tuesday post. “Amazing how being on the verge of Republicans getting wiped out in the midterms changes hearts and minds.”

Earlier this year , Greene resigned from Congress amid a feud with Trump. She had criticized Trump’s handling of files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a perceived lack of attention from the president on lowering costs.
