Watch live: Vance rallies North Carolina voters as Election Day looms

Vice President Vance heads to North Carolina on Wednesday as Republicans make a final push to energize voters ahead of next week’s midterm elections .

The visit also comes as the GOP fights to hold on to its majority in Congress, with ex-Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley facing former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) in one of the country’s most closely watched Senate races.

Vance has been crisscrossing the country to boost Republican candidates , joining President Trump in an aggressive campaign blitz as Democrats seek to capitalize on voter frustration over affordability and the administration’s economic policies.

Cooper is currently leading Whatley in the Tar Heel State, according to the polling average from election handicapper Decision Desk HQ.

The vice president also campaigned in western North Carolina earlier this month.

The event in Kinston, N.C., is expected to begin around 2 p.m. EDT.
