President Trump has announced a $1 million reward for voter fraud tips, about a week out from this year’s midterms.

“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud!” Trump said in a Monday afternoon Truth Social post .

In the last few months, officials in states throughout the U.S. have played defense against Trump’s election fraud claims as he has doubled down.

In remarks to the nation this summer, the president claimed to have seen “shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure.” Trump pointed to a 2020 voter registration case in Michigan and went after California, suggesting the mail-in ballots in the Golden State were “floating aimlessly.”

Before Trump’s remarks, the Department of Homeland Security said the department turned up thousands of noncitizens on voter rolls in California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Trump has a history of election denial , repeatedly claiming falsely that he won the 2020 presidential election.

On Friday, the president said he ordered the Department of Justice to file a lawsuit to prevent certification of the Senate election in Alaska if Sen. Dan Sullivan (R) loses in this year’s midterms.

The DOJ filed the suit Thursday, stating the existence of a candidate with a name similar to the incumbent Republican senator’s would result in an invalid win for Democrat Mary Peltola. The president told reporters Friday that he had pushed for the election challenge himself.

“I’m the one who said do it,” Trump said.
