Former FBI Director James Comey on Monday slammed his new charges from the Trump administration.

“Well, they’re back, again. It would almost be funny if it weren’t such an appalling abuse of the Department of Justice, one that we cannot become numb to. Nothing’s changed with me,” Comey said Monday in a video posted to Substack .

“I’m still innocent, I’m still not afraid of these people, and I still believe in the independent federal judiciary. And I’m still lucky to have an amazing family and an incredible group of lawyers that will stand up in court and fight the latest and whatever comes after this,” the former FBI director added.

Comey has been charged again by the Department of Justice (DOJ) over allegedly disclosing sensitive national defense information 10 years ago, per newly unsealed court documents.

The former FBI director was charged with two counts of transmitting information and conspiring to transmit information linked to national defense matters earlier this month. However, a federal judge granted Comey’s request to unseal the complaint Monday.

The DOJ accuses Comey of, “through one and more co-conspirators,” ordering an individual to share classified information with a reporter from a national news organization in October 2016, per the charging document. The New York Times is identified in other court documents as the publication.

The former FBI director has moved to dismiss the case, with his lawyers noting in court filings that the disclosure had been investigated in the past by two separate U.S. attorney’s offices, with both not bringing charges.
