Comedian and satirist Nathan Fielder’s documentary about Elizabeth Holmes drew 2,000 sold-out shows in its limited release across the United States.

The documentary – called “You Can See Everything” – was released on 855 screens over the weekend, with sold-out shows showing the nearly three-hour film that was expected to focus on Holmes’s life before she reported to prison in 2023.

It grossed an estimated $15 million over the weekend, according to Forbes , with an expected expanded release into more theaters next week.

Holmes is currently in federal prison for lying to investors about the capabilities of her blood-testing technology. While working as the founder of Theranos, she claimed the company’s blood-testing technology could perform several diagnostic tests with only one drop of blood.

At the time, the Stanford dropout was heralded as the next Steve Jobs, whom she admired and modeled herself after.

The scheme drew in several major figures, including media mogul Rupert Murdoch and former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, to invest in Theranos. Former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and George Shultz also sat on the company’s board.

Federal regulators announced in 2024 that Holmes had also been banned from participating in federal health programs for 90 years – essentially meaning she will not be able to work for an entity that receives federal healthcare funding apart from some limited circumstances.

Though she might be eligible to receive federal health benefits after she finishes her prison sentence.

Theranos COO Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, whom Holmes had a relationship with as they ran the company, had already been excluded from federal programs, also for 90 years. Holmes has also accused Balwani of rape since the company’s downfall.
