Vice President Vance is in Texas Tuesday seeking to boost support for Rep. Nathaniel Moran (R-Texas)’s reelection bid in the state’s 1st Congressional District, as Republicans work to defend their congressional majorities in November.
The campaign stop comes as President Trump and his allies make a series of appearances across traditionally red states, where GOP candidates are facing growing pressure ahead of the midterms. Trump also campaigned in Texas last week.
The Lone Star State is also drawing national attention for its competitive Senate race between Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democrat state Rep. James Talarico, adding to the stakes.
The event in Tyler, Texas, is scheduled to begin at 12:35 p.m. EDT.
