( NewsNation ) — Selma Blair was arrested following an airline incident over the weekend, according to authorities.

The “Cruel Intentions” actress was on a Delta Air Lines flight headed to John F. Kennedy International Airport from LAX on Sunday when she reportedly tried to open the plane door midair, resulting in her allegedly punching one flight attendant and biting another after they tried to intervene, TMZ first reported .

The outlet obtained dispatch audio, where airline officials asked for medical staff to be at the gate when the flight landed to address the injuries, including bite marks and a bloody nose.

According to the audio, an unruly passenger bashed her head against a physical partition that separates the different sections of the plane.

One flight attendant was taken to the hospital, the New York Port Authority told NewsNation.

“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the airline said in a statement.

Blair was detained and transported to a hospital for assessment. The FBI is investigating the alleged in-flight incident.

“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” Blair’s representative told NewsNation in a statement.

Blair, 54, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, or MS, in 2018. The disease, which impacts the central nervous system, can affect people differently, but is capable of causing memory difficulties, mobility issues, mood changes, and vision impairment, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society .

She revealed in 2021 that she had entered remission. In an April 2026 update to TODAY , Blair said she was “feeling well” and had been relapse-free.

Blair was removed from a flight in 2016 after she said she experienced “a total psychotic blackout” while traveling with her son, who was 4 at the time, Nexstar’s KTLA reports . She explained that it was “a big mistake” after mixing alcohol with medication.
