New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte is projected to face off against Democrat Cinde Warmington as she seeks a second term in the Granite State’s governor’s mansion, according to Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).

DDHQ and Cook Political Report forecast Ayotte is “likely” hold on to her post in November.

Ayotte easily clinched the Republican nomination, leading two GOP challengers by nearly 88 percentage points with 17 percent of the vote counted as of 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, per DDHQ.

Warmington, a former New Hampshire executive councilor, ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination in 2024, losing to former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig (D). Ayotte beat Craig by nearly 10 percentage points in the general election.

Warmington ran uncontested for the Democratic nomination this time around, notching support from New Hampshire Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D) and Maggie Hassan (D).

Recent polls show Ayotte leading Warmington by about 10 points in the general election.
