President Trump said early Friday morning that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was 85 percent full and “looking really good” after months of a multimillion-dollar renovation project .

The president also alleged in a Truth Social post shared shortly before 1 a.m. that the pool “hasn’t worked properly since 1922.”

“We have cameras set up to stop any potential Vandalism, including the grassed areas, which were destroyed by chemical poisoning with a large, and very inappropriate, phrase,” he continued, referencing a June etching of the numbers “86 97” on the ground near the World War II Memorial, which the Trump administration interpreted as a threat against the president.

Trump added, “The grass was completely replaced!”

Earlier this week, the president announced that security cameras had been installed around the iconic water feature, and he warned potential vandals they could “GO TO JAIL.”

“We are watching very closely, and security cameras have been installed,” Trump wrote Monday on Truth Social . “Reports are that it’s looking beautiful, and will only get better, subject to NO VANDALISM, with time.”

The pool is part of the president’s efforts to remake Washington, D.C. Last October, crews demolished the East Wing of the White House to begin constructing Trump’s ballroom. The president has also pushed to have his name added to iconic landmarks like the Kennedy Center and the U.S. Institute of Peace .

However, shortly after the White House unveiled the newly-renovated pool in June, onlookers began to spot a growth of green algae in the water and the pool’s newly-installed “American Flag Blue” base began to peel. The pool was drained again for repairs.

Trump blamed these problems on alleged vandalism and directed his Justice Department (DOJ) to crack down on alleged culprits. The DOJ later dropped charges against the people accused of vandalizing the pool, including former Olympic canoeist David Hearn.
