Jack Smith is apparently swapping the suit and tie he wears when testifying at the Capitol for a “No Kings” T-shirt. The former special counsel was eyed over the weekend sporting a tee from a Bruce Springsteen concert tour bearing the pointed message while attending a music festival featuring some of President Trump’s most vocal high-profile critics.

Smith was one of thousands of attendees at Saturday’s Power to the People festival in Columbia, Md., according to multiple photos and videos of the event posted on social media. In some images, Smith — wearing a black T-shirt from Springsteen’s Land of Hope and Dreams tour with the “No Kings” text at the bottom — was seen clutching a drink as he moved through the crowd. Other photographs show him smiling while posing with concertgoers.

In May, Springsteen announced he would perform at the one-day Power to the People gathering, along with the Foo Fighters, Tom Morello, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez and other artists.

The festival, “curated by Morello,” was billed by organizers as a way to bring together “artists, fans, activists, organizations and community leaders for an unforgettable day celebrating the power of music and collective action to inspire change.”

The shirt that Smith was seen wearing promoted Springsteen’s nationwide Land of Hope and Dreams tour earlier this year. The 77-year-old “Born in the U.S.A.” singer had said he was launching the tour “in defense of America,” telling fans in a February video that the country’s ideals are “under attack” by Trump and his “rogue government.”

At the Power to the People concert, Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl reportedly appeared to give a shoutout to the former special counsel in the crowd, dedicating the band’s song “My Hero” to “my new friend Jack.”

Grohl also seemingly offered a sartorial nod to Smith by wearing an Iowa Hawkeyes shirt onstage during his performance. The shirt appeared to be a reference to Sen. Eric Schmitt’s (R-Mo.) line of questioning of Smith during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last week. During the hearing, Schmitt erroneously accused the prosecutor of attending an Atlanta Hawks game — rather than an Iowa Hawkeyes game — in an effort to tie Smith to a Georgia prosecution of Trump.
