Milk recall warns of unpleasant taste, odor

( WJW ) – Horizon Organic Dairy is voluntarily recalling more than 53,000 cases of its chocolate milk , which the company warns could be spoiled, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

In a media release , the company announced the recall applies to certain 12-and 18-packs of its 8 oz. cartons of “ Shelf-Stable (Aseptic) 1% Chocolate Milk .” The recall comes after consumer complaints about packaging that appeared “bloated” and contents the company said may prematurely spoil and could have an unpleasant taste, odor, or texture.

The recall was initiated Aug. 7 . The impacted products have a best-by date of January 2027 and February 2027.
