Watch live: Schumer to tout Democrats’ sweeping midterm victories

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) is set to hold a press conference Wednesday morning after Democrats pulled off a stunning midterm comeback , winning control of both chambers of Congress.

Democrats flipped GOP-held Senate seats in states including Texas, South Carolina, Kansas and Iowa, delivering a major blow to President Trump and the GOP. Decision Desk HQ projects Democrats will hold at least 54 Senate seats, with just two races still uncalled.

The victories put Democrats in position to challenge Trump’s agenda during the final two years of his presidency, including through congressional oversight and blocking nominees.

The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST.
