Guilfoyle ‘certainly more’ than just some woman Trump’s son dated: Grisham

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Tuesday that recently ousted Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle has more ties to President Trump’s family than what he insinuated.

“I spent four full years and almost every holiday with Kimberly Guilfoyle in the family at Mar-a-Lago or at Bedminster, and she was everywhere ,” Grisham told CNN’s Erin Burnett.

“I even recall when she threw herself her 50th birthday party at Mar-a-Lago. So, she was certainly more than just, you know, a guy that or — a woman that his son dated,” the former press secretary, who has broken with Trump, said in the interview.

Guilfoyle resigned Tuesday at the president’s request following a series of reports about her conduct and activity.

A report by The Wall Street Journal detailed Guilfoyle’s close relationship with a lobbyist representing a Greek shipping firm, where she had the lobbyist participate in high-level meetings, promoted his firm and accepted private flights paid for by the company.

A second report revealed text messages between Guilfoyle and Trump donor Eric Deters, where she asked him for $100,000 to pay down her credit card debt without leaving a paper trail. A third report detailed Guilfoyle boasting about close ties to Greek tycoons who she said were bankrolling her luxury trips.

In a statement on the social platform X, Guilfoyle rejected the allegations and said she would continue to be an advocate for Trump and his political movement.

Guilfoyle was married to California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and was later engaged to the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., until they split in 2024. The couple was first linked together in 2018. President Trump told reporters Tuesday that Guilfoyle was not a member of his family, and she dated his son “a long time ago.”

“Well, the reality is, this is what Donald Trump and the family does. They tend to just suddenly distance themselves from people,” Grisham told CNN.
