( NewsNation ) — With Iowa's Senate race tightening, both campaigns are making a final sprint across the state Monday to energize voters ahead of Election Day.

Republican Ashley Hinson 's campaign told NewsNation by phone that confidence is growing by the day, despite polling showing Democrat Josh Turek nearly tied in this toss-up Senate race.

The latest Decision Desk HQ polling average shows Hinson at 53% and Turek at 47%, with the race tightening as Election Day approaches.

The Turek campaign is drawing encouragement from the increasingly competitive numbers, while Hinson's team is brushing off concerns about Republican vulnerabilities in the state.

Hinson's campaign told NewsNation they believe voters are more energized than media coverage suggests.

Still, some Iowa Republicans expressed nervousness Sunday outside a Trump rally in Dubuque. While several supporters said they weren't necessarily expecting a blue wave in Iowa, they acknowledged the races are closer than anticipated.

Trump, however, predicted sweeping Republican victories Tuesday.

"If we win as big as I think we're gonna win, they're going to go back into their holes," Trump said Sunday night. "You're gonna have a tremendous win."

The president also dismissed concerns about polling in Iowa, pointing to his own track record in the state. Trump carried Iowa in three consecutive presidential elections, including a roughly 13-point victory in 2024, despite polling that did not fully capture his margin.
