Live updates: CNN, MS NOW, Politico say journalists were denied from White House grounds; AI companies hit with new lawsuit

Less than a day after President Trump said he would ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico reporters from the White House, all three outlets said their journalists have been turned away from the White House grounds.

President Trump said he was banning the outlets from the premises after accusing them of producing “purposefully negative stories.”

MS NOW wrote in a statement just after 8 a.m. Saturday that their “journalists were denied access to the White House grounds.”

“MS NOW intends to take any and all steps necessary to defend our First Amendment rights and the essential role of independent journalism in our democracy,” MS NOW continued in their statement.

CNN reported just after 10 a.m. that their reporters were also denied access to White House grounds and Politico released a statement shortly before 11 a.m.

On Friday, AI companies Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceXAI and Google were all included in a lawsuit alleging “collusion” between the tech giants.

Plaintiffs claim that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SpaceXAI founder Elon Musk and Google DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis made an illegal business agreement among competitors by agreeing to slow the development of their AI systems, violating U.S. antitrust law.

The lawsuit points to a recent proposal from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who called for “industry-wide coordination” to “pace the frontier” of Ai development due to recent safeguard concerns.

President Trump is spending the day in Camp David Saturday after arriving late the night before, marking his third trip this year to the presidential retreat in Frederick County, Maryland.

The president is not slated to make any public appearances during his stay at the presidential retreat and will return to the White House on Sunday.
