President Trump set in motion an administrative panel Friday to investigate mortgage fraud allegations against Federal Reserve board of governors member Lisa Cook in his latest effort to fire her.

The inquiry will include a hearing at the White House on Nov. 5 that Cook “shall” attend to answer questions from the committee, Trump said in a written memo.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) reacted angrily toward the shooting of an immigrant by a federal officer while a child was present Thursday.

“There is no justification for what we have seen today,” Mamdani said. The mayor added that he spent two hours Thursday night pressing Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin to release the wounded man.

Trump is holding a rally in upstate New York on Friday after focusing his crunch-time campaign blitz for GOP candidates in red states.

He will stump in Syracuse, N.Y., to give a last-minute boost to Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman — whom nonpartisan election forecaster Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) gave a 10 percent chance of winning as of Thursday night .

Within the past week, the president has made stops in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama and Nebraska — all of which he claimed in 2024. This weekend, he’ll be in Tennessee and Alabama, with a rally in Alaska next week.

Vice President Vance is rallying voters in Lima, Ohio. While DDHQ ranks Ohio’s 4th Congressional District, home to Lima, a “safe” Republican victory, the state’s Senate race is much tighter — with former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) narrowly leading his GOP opponent, incumbent Sen. Jon Husted (R) as of late September.
