Live results: McBride seeks second term as Delaware’s lone House lawmaker

Voters in the First State head to the polls on Tuesday for the Democratic and Republican primaries for their lone U.S. House seat.

First-term Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Del.) begins her reelection effort running unopposed in the Democratic primary after taking over the seat from now-Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) in 2025. McBride is the first transgender person to serve in Congress.

Three Republicans are running in the primary to challenge McBride, including her former opponent in the 2024 Democratic primary and Republican nominee she defeated in 2024.

Earl Cooper, who received 16 percent of the vote in that primary to McBride’s 80 percent, is seeking a rematch but running as a Republican. He’ll first have to get past medical doctor Joseph Arminio and retired business owner John J. Whalen, who was the 2024 Republican nominee for the seat against McBride.
