President Trump will kick off his red-state campaign swing on Thursday afternoon with a visit to a manufacturing plant in Denton, Texas.

Trump is likely to use the stop to highlight his trade and tariff agenda, as well as the Trump administration’s efforts to boost domestic production. The visit comes as the president faces persistent concerns over the economy, with recent polls showing that his approval on the issue remains underwater .

The stop in the Lone Star State also puts Trump in the middle of a competitive Senate race between Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), whom he backed, and Democratic state Rep. James Talarico. Paxton is expected to appear with Trump in Denton — days after he suggested in private that the GOP midterm convention last month hurt him politically.

Later Thursday, Trump will travel to Oklahoma and give remarks.

The event at Peterbilt Motors is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT.
