Vice President Vance will campaign in Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday, marking his second stop to the Lone Star state in a two-week period as Democrats gain ground in the polls.
The stop also comes after President Trump campaigned in San Antonio on Wednesday and in north Texas the week before. Vance visited Harlingen, Texas, to campaign for Republican House candidate Eric Flores late last month.
Texas has taken center stage this election cycle as Democrats seek to make inroads up and down the ballot.
Polls show Democrat James Talarico leading Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) for Senate in the state, while incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is locked in a tight reelection bid against Democrat Gina Hinojosa.
Earlier this week, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) and the Democratic Governors Association announced they were each pouring in $1 million to boost Hinojosa.
The state is also home to a number of competitive House races, including the 15th, 24th and 35th districts.
Tyler, the city Vance is heading to, is located in the 1st District, which is considered to be safely Republican. The seat in northeast Texas is held by GOP Rep. Nathaniel Moran.
