Top Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro said the White House complained to Fox News leadership about the network’s decision to oust host Maria Bartiromo last week.

“But suffice it to say that Suzanne Scott got a call, and basically the White House let her know that that kind of thing is totally unacceptable,” Navarro said, referring to Fox News CEO, during a Tuesday appearance on Newsmax.

After Bartiromo and the network parted ways abruptly last week, several news outlets reported the host shared details of internal editorial directives with officials in the White House.

“She just went out and fired Maria Bartiromo,” Navarro said of Scott. “And that place is out of control.”

Fox gave few details about Bartiromo’s ouster last week, only thanking her for “her work over the last 12 1/2 years” and wishing her “all the best on her next chapter.”

Navarro suggested there is an anti-Trump sentiment among Fox producers and reporters.

“When you craft your segments for like the equivalent of Greg Kelly every day, whatever the show is, it’s like, you don’t do these MAGA issues, you don’t do pro-Trump stuff,” he said.

Fox features a number of primetime and daytime hosts who are vocally supportive of the president and regularly carries his speeches and rallies extensively.

One of the network’s top financial news personalities, Bartiromo was among the president’s most vocal supporters on Fox’s roster of hosts and routinely backed his policies relating to the economy and trade.

President Trump mourned her departure from Fox in a Truth Social post last week, writing he “can’t believe” she is no longer at the network and adding “her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy.”
