Hospital completes 100 coronary procedures

Madurai: Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital (MSSH) has completed 100 coronary procedures using integrated near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging technology. The technology can be useful for patients with complex or apparently intermediate lesions, acute coronary syndromes and diffuse atherosclerotic disease. S Selvamani, director of interventional cardiology at MSSH, said the technology enabled doctors to look beyond the angiographic appearance of a blockage.
