Cindy Crawford is paying tribute to her son, Presley Gerber, who died in September. For the first time since his death, Crawford addressed the tragedy in an Instagram post shared Sunday. The mom of two wrote that the family is “beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother.” “We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever,” she wrote in the Instagram post. “We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability.” Supermodel Crawford and her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, also have a daughter, model and actor Kaia Gerber, who is 25. Presley Gerber died Sept. 20 at a rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner. The records show that the cause of death is pending additional investigation. No further details were provided. In her post, Crawford thanked those who showed the family support amid the difficult time. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain,” she wrote. She concluded the post with a sweet message to her late son. “Til we meet again our sweet boy,” Crawford wrote. “We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia” Kaia Gerber also posted a tribute to her brother on Instagram the same day. In her post, she wrote to “prez” about “how much I loved being your sister.” “It has always been, and will forever be, my favorite thing about myself. i came into this world with a white-knuckle grip around you,” she wrote in a long, open letter to her brother. “i had more love for you than i knew what to do with. and now that it has nowhere obvious to go, i’m certain it’s going to swallow me whole.” In the Instagram post, she also shared a sweet throwback video of the siblings as kids, hugging and dancing together, along with a few old pictures. “I am learning how to love you when i cannot see you. how to tell you something without picking up my phone to call you,” Kaia Gerber wrote in the heartbreaking post. “How to be your sister in a world that I can’t reach for you in. i don’t know how to do that yet.” She also seemingly referenced physicist Richard Feynman’s famous letter to his late wife. “My darling brother, i do adore you,” Kaia Gerber wrote. “i love my brother. my brother is dead. and this party sucks so bad without you, prez.” Hours before authorities found him unresponsive, Presley Gerber had checked into rehab facility Resolutions Living of Santa Monica, a law enforcement source told NBC News. His death is being investigated as a suspected overdose, police have said. Presley Gerber has been open about his struggles with depression and addiction in the past. In June, he took part in a panel discussion about mental health, according to People magazine. It would be his final public appearance. “The most free I felt was when I was finally honest with myself,” he told the audience.
