BENGALURU: AI interactive content startup Flam has raised $40 million by QED Investors, with actor Shah Rukh Khan among the participants. The company will use the money to develop its AI models, expand its products and grow enterprise sales globally.Claypond Capital, Martin Chavez, Olivier Pomel and Venky Harinarayan also joined the round. Existing investors RTP Global and Dovetail made additional investments.Flam said it has signed more than 100 enterprise customers over six quarters, including Google, Reliance and Hyundai. Its technology is used for marketing, product visualisation, training, entertainment, fan engagement, customer support and sales.The company builds interactive content, allowing businesses to create videos, 3D experiences and digital characters that users can engage with.“Content has moved in waves, from text to images to video, and every wave flowed one way, creator to viewer. We think interactive is the next default for the internet,” said Shourya Agarwal, founder of Flam.Flam offers three content formats. Flicks enables elements such as people, products or scenes to be switched during video playback. Its editing model allows a specified element to be changed using reference images.Airboards displays interactive 3D content through a camera interface, with touch and voice controls, without requiring users to install an app, the company said.Its third format, Visual Agents, uses human-like digital characters to hold conversations and perform tasks through an interface resembling a video call. Flam said its AI models handle facial expressions, voice and responses.Founded in 2021, Flam is headquartered in San Francisco, with teams in India and Japan.
